As many of us have heard in the news, COVID-19, commonly known as the CoronaVirus, has been classified by the World Health Organization as a public health emergency of international concern. As your dental care providers, we are committed to not only staying updated as new developments emerge, but also providing you with a safe, clean, and prepared environment.
CDC Guidelines for Infection Control:
Wear a Mask – Wear a mask that completely covers your mouth and nose.
Prior to Patients Arrival – Before the planned visit, patients will receive a phone call. Because of the concerns over the coronavirus, they should not come in if:
- They are sick with fever, cough, sore throat, muscle pain, or GI symptoms.
- They have traveled internationally, or within the USA by plane within the past 14 days.
Please note that the lobby will be closed during the pandemic. Patients should call (526-3815) upon arrival in the parking lot.
Hand Hygiene – Wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Healthcare Facilities – Hand hygiene supplies are available in every care location. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer (ABHS) is located in the front office waiting room and in each patient room.
Tissue boxes are available in the lobby, hallway, and front office areas.
We adhere to Standard, Contact and Airborne Precautions, including the Use of Eye Protection Goggles provided for all dental procedures. Reusable eye protection (e.g., goggles) are cleaned and disinfected according to Manufacturer’s reprocessing instructions prior to re-use.
Implementation of Environmental Infection Control Routine cleaning and disinfection procedures (e.g., using cleaners and water to pre-clean surfaces prior to applying an EPA-registered, hospital -grade disinfectant to frequently touched surfaces or objects for appropriate contact times as indicated on the product’s label).
Disinfectant: SUV Ultra 5’s special formula contains a powerful cleaning agent. It can be used as an effective surface cleaner prior to disinfection, an exceptional ultrasonic cleaning solution for cleaning and decontaminating instruments prior to sterilization, and a vacuum line cleaner to keep vacuum lines clear of organic debris. It complies with OSHA’S blood Borne pathogens Standard and CDC guidelines for dental disinfection and are appropriate for COVID-19 in healthcare settings, including those patient-care areas in which aerosol-generating procedures are performed.
